Welcome to TL Sea Diving!

Congratulations on taking the first step toward the adventure of a lifetime with your PADI Open Water Diver Course!  By now you should have received your training materials in eLearning format.  Enclosed is some helpful information to make your experience more Fun and Enjoyable!

On behalf of all the Staff at TL Sea Diving, we would like to welcome you to the Wonderful World of Scuba Diving!  We are excited you have chosen to be part of the TL Sea Diving Team.  We believe each Student contributes to the diversity and success of each class and we wish to provide everyone the opportunity to learn in a safe and friendly environment.

We would like to make sure that you are well equipped for your PADI Open Water Course and every course you take with TL Sea Diving.  To ensure this, we have developed this “Welcome Packet” to describe some of the expectations as well as the resources available to each Student.

There is a “Dive Equipment Check List” that will be useful for your PADI Open Water Diver Course and all your other diving adventures.  You should also know what your instructor will be expecting from you and what you should expect from them.

We hope that this packet is, and will continue to be, helpful so you will have a better understanding of TL Sea Diving’s philosophy, what we stand for, and the way we operate.  These tools will be helpful for a safe and fun scuba diving future.

We encourage you to keep checking our web site tlsea.com regularly for new photos, stories and upcoming adventures, events and trips.  We want to be your one source for information, training, equipment & travel.  Please feel free to contact us and join us at any of our events.

Equipment Responsibilities

During your class, you are responsible for maintaining and bringing all your required equipment to designated sessions (see class schedule).  We supply this equipment as a courtesy to all our students.  By signing the “Rental Release Form”, in the unlikely event loss or damage occurs to any of TL Sea Diving’s Rental Equipment for which you have signed out, you agree to pay for the repair or replacement of that equipment which has been damaged and/or lost.
Some helpful hints to avoid damage include:
·        Treat your gear with care – don’t subject it to harsh conditions or treatment that could potentially result in damage or unnecessary wear.  Salt, sand, and chlorine are your gear’s worst enemy.
·        After each dive, soak and rinse your equipment thoroughly in fresh water

  • Mask lenses are easily scratched, be sure to handle them with care
  • It is suggested to soak the mouth pieces on your snorkel and regulators in vinegar to sanitize them prior to use
  • Store and carry all your gear in your assigned bag, once dry
  • Regulator hoses should be loosely wound to avoid placing any undue stress creating tears or kinks in the hoses
  • Wetsuits are easier to don if you use baby powder, a soap solution, or wear nylons when donning the suit
  • A bathtub works great to soak and clean your gear

·        With the drysuit option, you will receive special training with specific instructions detailing how to clean and care for your suit
·   Please do not wash drysuit undergarments. Upon return, we will wash them with very light detergent & cold water and hang them to dry
Let the Dive Center or your Instructor know as soon as possible if your equipment has broken or does not fit properly.

All Rental Equipment must be thoroughly rinsed in fresh water before returning it to the Dive Center.  We offer the option of paying a $150 cleaning fee for the Dive Center to clean your gear for you upon return.  Should the equipment be returned unclean, this fee shall be assessed to the student.
